Smart Publisher — Privacy Policy

Android app · com.tekeralab.publisher · last updated 20 August 2026

In one sentence

Smart Publisher has no account, no server of ours and no analytics. Your photos, videos and captions never leave your phone. Two small things do go to Google, and both are named below.

What the app does

You pick a photo or video, write a caption and choose a time. At that time your phone reminds you, opens Instagram with the post ready, and puts the caption on your clipboard so you can paste it. You take the final step yourself.

  • The app never connects to your Instagram account.
  • It cannot post on your behalf, and does not try to.
  • There is nothing to log into and no password to hand over.

What stays on your phone

What a scheduled post is made of, and a short record of the ones already done, held in the app's own private storage:

  • The photo or video you picked.
  • Your caption and the time you chose.
  • For a post that is finished: a small thumbnail of it, with the caption, the file name, the time, and where it was going.

The photo or video itself is deleted the moment you publish the post, remove it, or it expires unsent. What stays is the thumbnail-sized record, so you can see what you have posted and use a good caption again. Uninstalling the app removes all of it at once.

What leaves your phone

Your photos, videos and captions: nothing, ever. There is no server of ours to send them to, and device backup is switched off inside the app, so pending posts are not copied into your Google account either. Two things do go to Google, and only to Google. The first is a single number — how many of the three free posts you have used — held by Google Play services so that removing and reinstalling the app does not quietly reset it. The second, if you subscribe, is the purchase itself. Neither of them carries a photo, a caption, or anything you wrote.

Photos and videos

The app has no permission to read your photo library. You choose one file at a time through Android's own picker, and only that file is handed to the app.

Permissions, and why

  • Notifications — so the reminder can reach you.
  • Alarms & reminders — so it arrives at the minute you chose rather than some minutes later.
  • Run at startup — so a pending reminder survives a restart.

The app declares internet access because of the framework it is built on, but makes no network requests of its own.

Instagram, and children

When you tap Open Instagram you leave Smart Publisher, and Instagram's own terms and privacy policy apply from that point. We have no relationship with Meta and no access to your account. The app is a tool for people running a business account; it is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

The subscription

The first three posts are free; after that Smart Publisher is a monthly subscription. Google Play handles the payment from beginning to end — we never see your card, your name or your address. The only thing we receive is the answer to one question: whether this phone is subscribed. Cancelling is done in Google Play, and the app has a link straight to it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Questions: [email protected]
